Doing well in the CBSE Class 10 board exams isn't just about knowing the syllabus: there are aspects such as how fast you can think and how accurately you can answer the questions under the pressure of an exam. A lot of candidates require the full duration to complete the paper and make careless mistakes due to anxiety. If you want to score full marks, then you must concentrate as much on your speed and accuracy as on the concepts themselves.

Here are a few tips on improving that.

1. Build Conceptual Clarity First

Before rushing into speed, do spend a little time securing the basics. Unless you are strong on formulas, definitions, and procedures in either Math or Science, you might lose precious time in solving problems.

Your science studies should be aided by your CBSE online class 10 course. Regularly revise topics from the NCERT too. Prepare a list of common formulas and terms that you forget, and revise them regularly.

2. Practice Mock Tests Very Often

The only way to make things fast for you is to create a simulated exam environment. If you have access to CBSE class 10 mock test papers, try sitting for at least two of those weekly. Get your stopwatch out and finish the paper in one go, with no breaks in between.

This helps your brain get used to working under time pressure, which is key to improving speed.

3. Analyse Your Mistakes

After every class 10 science mock test or Math paper, make the time to check through your errors. Were the errors made because of a lack of knowledge, calculation errors, or time pressure?

Maintain a notebook of repeated mistakes, and work on correcting them. This should push the level of accuracy much higher.

4. Try to Build with Time Management Easily

Try dividing your exam time into:

  • Prior to 10 minutes: Reading of the paper.
  • Next 1 hour: Easy questions.
  • Remaining time: Long or tricky ones.

This method will allow time to answer as many questions correctly as possible.

5. Attempt Tests Topic-Wise

Instead of simply taking full-length tests, try solving questions topic-wise. For example, you can select a topic like "Chemical Reactions" and attempt a class 10 mock test free of charge on that topic. This will create speed focused on the direction of grasp for the tough chapters.

6. Keep a Weekly Improvement Tracker

Use a table like the one below to track your progress:
